End Of An Era

Can you believe it? I can't!

Wow that year went so fast. I can't believe that this is my final post of Enrich!!! All of these posts will be gone soon.

I never thought that this day would come. The four years have flown by. I will miss Enrich immensely.

Today I finished french that was sad as well. I have learnt heaps thanks to these opportunities and Miss Kelly. She was the best french teacher ever! Thank you so much Miss Kelly. She also gave me a cool little tree decoration and a pretty card in a stripy envelope.

Enrich was amazing I loved the opportunities and the teachers were the best! Over the six years I have been at Salford School, only two of the years I haven't attended Enrich.

This is an end of an era for me. I will miss enrich so much!!!! Thank you Enrich!

Merci Beaucoup Enrich, Miss Kelly and the teachers, and also to you for reading my blog for the last time,

Madison

P.S I am trying my hardest to hold in the tears :)

French crying

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

It's the third last day of Enrich! I will really miss my blog, teachers and all the opportunities.

Anyway let's get off that sad stuff. I had French again I absolutely love it! I got to draw my dream house and then explain it in French! It was so fun.

I have now finally completed my gifted study, it took me and my Mum and Dad four hours to put it together, but it was so worth it.

Well thanks for reading my third last blog post of the year.....sob sob,

Writing fever

Writing writing writing!!!

I love writing! Yay today we had writers studio 201 with Nicola. It is a writing workshop. Here is a bit of my story:

Making my self invisible is hard on a space shuttle. I feel like a lizard in the snow ~ all out of place.

We had to use four words. Mine were lizard, bumblebee, row and turquoise. Then we had to use a starting sentence mine was "making myself  invisible"

We also had to use a setting. Mine was, in a space shuttle.

I had a great time writing and finishing my gifted study!! I am so happy.

I will talk to you more next week not long now until the last day of Enrich, FOREVER!!!

Plus tard et merci beaucoup for reading my blog

Freak Out!

I am freaking out....

I only have today and next week to finish my gifted study!!!! Most people are nearly finished and I have just ticked one thing of my check list..... Would you be worried?

Besides that I had a wonderful day of French and digital citizenship. I really enjoyed Nicola's lesson on digital citizenships. I learnt that you can't trust everyone online, some people aren't what they say they are. Also that even when you're not born you start to have a digital citizenship when your mum has a scan. That picture goes into the hospital files and that's when your digital citizenship starts. Freaky aye?

At French I learnt a lot and had loads of fun!

Salut (French informal for hi and goodbye) et merci beaucoup for reading my blog,
Madison :)

Poem that is random but my day was not random? Does that make sense?

Hello,

It's rainy I feel sleepy
Suddenly I'm feeling weepy
Rain splatters on my jacket
Now I feel like Brian from Hatchet.

Wind whirls now I'm cold
Coldy coldy cold cold COLD
Puddles wet my feet
As wander like a lost sheep.

Today I learnt sushi is disgusting
If you're having it for lunch I wouldn't be rushing.
French was fun I learnt a lot
I wish that hour could never stop.

This is a really random poem
That doesn't make sense
Hey look I just found fifty cents.

That's my day wrapped into a very random poem. Oh and by the way I changed my gifted study
Back to David Attenborough.

Plus tard et merci beaucoup for reading my blog

Term 4

WOW!!¡¡!!

First day of term 4. Where did they days go? Actually where do they go? Hmmm that's something to think about.

I'm a bit worried about my gifted study, first it was David Attenborough, then Jimmy Spithill, now it's Sir Douglas Bader. Will I ever get it finished? Will I get an above? Wow this was a school project now it's turned into a Shortland Street series. I'm sure I will get it finished though...... Positive thoughts Madison, positive thoughts.

Well! Plus tard et merci beaucoup for reading my blog.

French writing and study

Hi I've just finished my story from writer's studio. Please leave a comment if you wish:

Don’t Look now
By Madison

“Hurry they’re coming.”  I called to Emma
The wet green leaves flicked in my face as I dodged through the woods. We were trying to get to the fort before THEY came.
“ Anna we won’t make it look!”
I flicked my head around and saw two scruffy boys sprinting like Usain Bolt, but THEY had guns. I agreed with Emma we wouldn’t make it, but soon they would get puffed and start to walk.

Finally the fort was in reach. We scrambled up the stairs and took cover. I crawled to the tennis ball firer and loaded it up. Suddenly my tummy fell to the ground, I could hear footsteps THEY were here...

In ten minutes it was all over. The cup was still ours. We had won the paintball battle.

Also, today I went to my French lesson and I also started on my gifted study. I am doing Sir David Attenborough. I learnt that he was born on the 8th of May 1926 this will help me for when I am doing my gifted study.

Today went soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo fast!

I hope the year goes fast too I can't wait till Highschool!!!!

See you next week

Madison.

A Busy Day Doing Stuff

Yawn I'm tired
I have been at Enrich all day long
Playing Chess and doing Sewing
Humming a little song
At twelve o'clock I went to French
At one o'clock I ate
Now you are reading my blog
about what I learnt today
Even though I missed Writer's Studio
I certainly didn't come to play.

Hi everyone,

Did you like my poem I whizzed up? Its not the best but It's called:

Five Minute Poem
By MadisonF

Today I learnt how to make a hat. This will be useful for me when I am at high school and have a sewing assignment.

I also learnt how to describe myself in French. This will be helpful for me when I am learning French at High School next year and when I go to France!

Thanks for reading my blog today,

Madison

Short Blog Day

"That lady has 100 chihuahuas under her coat... WOOF!"
Whispered Nicola when we were walking down Don street this afternoon.
You're probably wondering what we were doing all afternoon well we were writing. Writing about random people on the street making stories for them. It was boat loads of fun.

Mindmaps.... sounds boring. But no how wrong are you. Mindmaps are a fun way to organize things. They have pictures, colors and bright text. I learnt that mindmaps have rules they are:

Horizontal writing only
Swirly lines no straight lines
Colors
Pictures
Titles

The rest of my day was at French and I also made a trip to the physio but let's not get into that...

See you next week,
Madison:)

Finally I am posting!

Hi everyone!

I am so sorry for not posting lately. Today I am teaching French! We are making a movie and hopefully  be using costumes! Whoop whoop!! At French today I learnt numbers from 30 to 60 and the weather, now I can say how old my parents are.

I also learnt how to use a map and a compass. We learnt how to do this because if we get lost in the woods we can use a map and a compass and get back on track.

Well its just about time to get ready for student lead and I need to ask Nicola if I can use the costumes.
See you next week, wait no, I'll see you next term:)

What a Morning!

Un deux trois ....

That was me teaching Hannah C French. There are only four girls at Enrich today so I only had one person at my French lessons.
That was okay because she got a one-on-one tutoring.

Today I am going to French with Miss Kelly and with Natalie. I hope we are doing foods.  I know what I am doing with Natalie - ROLE PLAYS! It is going to be tremendous!

I am very tired. I have the sorest eyes in the whole entire universe, because I was awake all night. I never went to sleep this morning, and doing this post won't make them any better. But I have to, so who cares.

Something that is quite funny is that everyone goes silent whenever an ambulance goes by. ( I don't how that fits in to my  post but anyway.....)

For Passion Time today I did Mind Snacks and I passed a quest! You had to name what was a "le" and what was a "la". It is quite easy now because Natalie told me that things are Female and Male so all I had to do is think what was a Female and what was a Male.

I am now finding it hard to keep my eyes open soooooooooooooeopf[e2ifc sorry I just drifted off to sleep.

Hear from you next week!

Not So Busy After All

Hey everyone!

Today wasn't a rush day at all.... Miss Kelly couldn't make the lesson today so I had more time to do my things I had to do before 11.45.

For passion time I did Linguascope, Study ladder, Language Perfect and Mind S
nacks. Today no one wanted to do my French lesson so I had to do "The Pit" again. But I am running it again next week.

At lunch time I did some really awesome art. It is a Saint Bernard on a snowy hill looking over a little village. The sky is chalk. I have still been quite busy even though this week didn't work out.

I still have French today though because Natalie is coming.

See you next week

Change of Plans

Hey French friends,

Today I have found out that next week will be so different.Do you want to know why? I'll tell you. Well Darryn found another lady who teaches French. So I rung her today and asked if she could teach me in the morning before I head off to S.G.H.S with Miss Kelly.

But this lady Natalie can't teach in the mornings so she is teaching me in the afternoon straight after French with Miss Kelly. So I have to have lunch before 11.45, post a blog and do all of the afternoon stuff in the morning.

Next week I am taking a French lesson for the Enrich kids, so add that to the rush list:)

See you next week
Au revoir

French French French

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Today I had my first ever lesson of French! Katie the girl who was going to teach couldn't teach me in the end so Miss Kelly is now my teacher.  She is at Southland Girls' High. We learnt about greetings and what order to say things in.

We somehow ended up talking about air-flights and how long it takes to go to France. 24 hours is the answer.

I asked Miss Kelly who my pen-pal was. It is Maximilie who lives in Leon. He is 11 years old! The same age as me (As soon as I have my Birthday.)

Anyway I can't wait for next week - Miss Kelly is going to continue with French numbers!!

Au revoir

French!!!!!

Hi Everyone! Today we did passion time for one and a half hours! I got a lot of time to send emails and make some important phone calls.

I am also doing photography for my passion project. So I emailed Racheal Kelly to see if I could get her to come in and teach me some awesome angles and tips!

I also found an email from Christen Black saying that she had a girl who would come and teach me French! So I rung James Hargest and left a message for Katie. ( Thats the girl who's going to teach me!)

This afternoon she rung me back and I am going to go to James Hargest in four weeks for my first proper French lesson!!! Eeek exciting!!

See you next week! Wait, no I won't! Holidays...

Newspaper

Travelling wait no. Buses nope. Oh sorry, I didn't see you there!

I suppose you don't know what on earth I'm talking about. Well I am talking about newspaper writing with Nicola. We had fifteen minutes to write a story with a chosen starting sentence.
I chose Travelling with my Aunt ...

I decided that we would end up in Dinosaur land and nearly be eaten. Lovely isn't it? We also did passion  time. I had four emails in my inbox today from Hargest and Girls' High! I can't wait till next week. More emails!!!!

See you next time,

Madison

Field Trip...

Bonjour Ca'va?

That means Hello how are you? In French. Well I'll tell you how I feel...
Tired and sore! We walked miles. We walked to the  supermarket, Wachner Place, Park, Rose Garden, Avery, Plant Place and so much more.

My Mum came and helped I think she is now like the rest of us, tired. You would be amazed how huge patterns can be! They are all around you, they're even at your house!!!!! A lot of shoes have the same pattern but they're different colours and sizes. Like me and my Mum's shoes looked the same you wouldn't believe.

See you next week!

French

Hi Everyone,

Today I continued my French Journey on emails. No not learning how to send French emails, writing emails about France! Katie and I sent two very very important emails to Hargest’s International department and Southland Girls High as well.

We wrote about pen-pals, learning the language, and cooking. I am looking forward to hearing back from them so we can start more learning.

One of the things that I am looking forward to the most is a French Pen-Pal. Katie said I could skype her and write emails to her.

Hopefly I will have two very, very exciting emails for me next week!!!!!

See you next Monday,

Madison

Passion Time

Vroom!

I had started my French Adventure. Today Enrich students were following their passions and I of course chose French.

I quickly grabbed an i-Pad and downloaded a French App. I was going to start my French Journey with... Languages. "What part of the body is mains?" Said Enrich 4 the ipad. " Um Hands!!" I cried! " Correct!" said Enrich 4.

Soon It was lunch time, and I couldn't wait to get back to Enrich 4!

I had finally moved up a level to level 2! I was so pleased with myself.

Next week I am continuing with languages.

See you next week,
That's if I'm not in France:)

My Interesting Day

At 9.45 am the Monday Enrich group were on a quest. First we took a boat into a misty swamp to get to the diamond cave. To enter the diamond cave we had to pass the Mental Edge Crocidile. He said in his croaky vioce “ Stand in a circle, three people hold these balls” ( He gave us the balls) “ Each one of you has to touch all of these balls. I am timing you, but you can’t talk. The time to bet is 28 seconds but under 1minute is good enough. It is called Picadilly Circus.”

After we had all got the balls he told us that our time was 31 seconds. Then we went inside the diamond cave. We didn’t know this but then a snake slid out in front of us. It was the Drama snake. To get out of the cave we had to sit in a circle, and say a sentance in alphabetical order, but it had to be about the same thing.
Diamond Cave

When we got out of the misty swamp, we hoped onto the boat and went back to Enrich, to learn about patterns!

See you next week,

Today At Enrich

Hi

I am back from Bannockburn School Camp. It was really fun but now I am really tired!

Today we did a PMI sheet (Plus, Minus and Interesting) about being gifted. Sometimes its just really fun, and other times you can think that you wish that you weren't gifted. Like when people say "Oh you're gifted you should know!" But you can't know everything.

We also looked at Patterns which is part of our concept curriculum this year. We looked at weather patterns, space patterns, natural patterns, clothes patterns, food chain patterns and more. We were split into 3 groups to talk about it. After we had finished talking my head hurt.

See you next week,

Madison                                              This leopard cub has a pattern
